2 Things That Can Sabotage Your Weight Loss
When you’re trying to lose weight, it may sometimes seem like everything in your life is conspiring against you and making it more difficult to reach your goal. The truth is, there are many external distractions that make it virtually impossible to stay focused on your weight loss goals.
Here are two to watch out for:
#1 – Clutter and Disorder
Are your home and workspace very cluttered and disorganized? If so, you may want to devote some time to cleaning them up ASAP! You wouldn’t think that a cluttered environment has anything to do with weight loss, but it absolutely does. Think about how you feel when you’re in a cluttered, disorganized environment. Confused, unable to concentrate, sluggish, weighed down, scattered. All of these feelings will impact your ability to stay focused and motivated on your weight loss goals, or any goals.

When your surroundings are clean, orderly and organized, you feel much lighter, happier, focused and energetic, which can help keep you on track with your goals.
#2 – Busyness
How busy are you most days? Like many other people, you may have answered, “I can’t remember what it’s like to NOT be busy!” While busyness is very common in this day and age, it can be a big obstacle standing between you and your weight loss goals. When you are busy, you are more likely to procrastinate on preparing healthy meals and snacks and working out. You have the best of intentions to stick to a healthy lifestyle, but it will eventually seem too hard to keep going.
To overcome this obstacle, you’ve got to find creative ways to minimize your chronic busyness and make time for your weight loss activities. Planning healthy menus, shopping, cooking and preparing healthy foods, working out each day . . . these things should be a top priority in your life. Undoubtedly you have other activities that aren’t as crucial, even if they are still very important to you. If you truly can’t eliminate any activities minimize your busyness, at least figure out a way to rearrange some things so you can fit in everything you need to do. Your health is hanging in the balance and if your will to do something about it strong enough, you’ll find a way.
